A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Grand Hotel Central has re-opened its doors in 2024, following a meticulous refurbishment. The renovation has completely reimagined the hotel’s 147 rooms and suites, two restaurants, bars, rooftop pool area and terrace.
The transformation, guided by the London-based design studio Sagrada, draws inspiration from the rich history of the building and its visionary founder, politician and patron of the arts, Francesc Cambó. The design pays homage to both the Noucentisme era and the Chicago School—two significant influences on the hotel’s original 1920s architecture.
Situated on the iconic Vía Laietana, Grand Hotel Central is located in the vibrant El Born neighborhood, just steps from the beach and a short walk from the elegant shopping avenue of Paseo de Gracia. The hotel boasts 147 elegantly redesigned rooms and suites, a vibrant street-level restaurant, Can Bo Vins &Tapes , and the rooftop oasis, La Terraza del Central. Guests can enjoy cocktails with panoramic views of Barcelona's Old Town, lounge on Balinese beds, take a dip in the infinity pool, or dine while DJs create the perfect atmosphere for lively evenings.
At the heart of the hotel is the historic wood-paneled library of Francesc Cambó, showcasing a selection of his personal book collection, offering guests a unique glimpse into the legacy of the hotel's founder.
The hotel’s wellness area features a spa with a hammam, sauna, and Natura Bissé treatments, as well as a gym offering stunning views of the Gothic Quarter.
Grand Hotel Central offers a local experience, truly capturing the essence of Barcelona, inviting guests to indulge in the city's timeless charm and vibrant culture.
